  2. Mourning - time in which people worship sb. who has recently died.
  3. To gather - to join together.
  4. Catwalk - fashion show walkway.
  5. Heels - high-heeled shoes.
  6. Mohawk - hairstyle that consists on a large mohican.

  1. Motto - phrase or slogan sb. says and have a major impact on.
  2. Knot - tie.
  3. Fellow -  person who works with you and at the same level as you.
  4. To be sacked - to dimiss.
  5. Chilminder - the person who looks after children.
  6. Cashier - the person who works in a supermarket cash.
  7. Accomplishment - sth. you achive but you found it difficult.
  8. Working day - that which is not day off.
  9. To apply for a job - request a job.
  10. First aid - emergency medical help.

  1. Civil servant: a person employes in the civil service.
  2. Constitution: a collection of a country’s fundamental laws that shape the government, institutions and rights and obligations of citizens.
  3. Cultural diversity:  the quality of diverse or different countries.
  4. Culture: the collection of common customs, knowledge and ways of living that a group of people recognise s their own.
  5. Demmcracy: a government, in which the people have power, exercised either directly or through elected representatives.
  6. Dictatorship: a system of government in which one person with absolute power governs.
  7. Election: the selection by vote of a candidate from among several political parties to the president of a nation.
  8. Executive power: one of three branches of the state with responsibility for executing laws, setting state policy and managing public affairs.
  9. Globalisation:  the integration and development of a worldwide economic system.
  10. Judicial power:  one of three branches of the state with responsibility for interpreting and applying the law.
  11. Justice: the administration of law according to prescribed and accepted principles.
  12. Legislative power: one of three branches of state with authority to approve, amend and repeal laws.
  13. Liberty: the power of choosing, thinking and acting for oneself.
  14. Mass culture: a worldwide culture characterized by similar patterns of consumption.
  15. Monarchy: a system of government in which the monarch exercises unrestricted power to dictate laws, govern and judge.
  16. Multiculturalism: the preservation of different cultures or cultural identities within a unified society, as a state or nation.
  17. N.G.O. (non-governmental organization): an entity with humanitarian and social aims.
  18. Referendum: submission of an issue of public importance to the direct vote of the people.
  19. Regionalism: division of a country into administrative regions having partial autonomy.
  20. Sovereignty: the authority to rule over an area.
  21. State: the supreme public power within a sovereign political entity.
  22. Subsidiarity: when the institutions closest to the citizens make the important decisions.
  23. Supranational:  beyond the authority of one nation government.
  24. U.N. (United Nations): a supranational organization composed of over 190 member states.
  25. Universal suffrae: a system of democratic elections whereby all citizens of voting age can participate regardless of their gender or economic situation.
